PC_Deco_Lempicka01Unused postcard pub: Gebr König, Köln - Serie 89 (7 of 10) “Autoportrait” by Tamara de Lempicka c 1925 Tamara Łempicka (1898-1980) - born Tamara Rosalia Gurwik-Górska on 16 May 1898 in Warsaw and better known as Tamara de Lempicka - was a Polish painter who spent her working life in France and the United States. She is best known for her polished Art Deco portraits of aristocrats and the wealthy, and for her highly stylized paintings of nudes. She moved to Mexico in 1974, where she died on 18 March 1980.
