  • PC_HWycombe17-MultiView1Early (pre-1903) multiview postcard (pub: V & S series) of High Wycombe Byrghe de Chipping Wycombe "Burgh de Chepping Wycombe" (more commonly known as the Borough of Chepping Wycombe or Chipping Wycombe) is the historic, formal name for the ancient market town and former municipal borough of High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire The term "Chepping" stems from the Old English word cieping, which means "market" or "marketplace". This historical name highlighted the town's prominent status as a trading hub dating back to the Middle Ages.
