- The Priory Refectory, Blackfriars HallUnused RP postcard - (Ref: PC_OxfOther_0186) The origin of Blackfriars Hall is in the Priory, a religious house re-founded in 1921, which inherited the identity of the medieval priory of the same name (1221 – 1538). The Priory continues today as a community of around 24 Dominican friars. Blackfriars Hall grew out of the Priory’s house of studies (Studium), becoming a Permanent Private Hall of the University of Oxford in 1994.

- Oxford MultiviewThis lovely early (Victorian) court card published by Alden & Co, Oxford and postmarked Oxford 1998 is probably the oldest postcard in my collection. (PC_OxfOther_Court98) It is delightful (not) to see that even in 1898 there was wide-spread ignorance about the correct use of the apostrophe!
